Ealing Reclaim Social Care Action Group (ERSCAG) campaigns for a transformed social care system:<\/strong><\/p>\n Together we work to ensure that people in Ealing who require support to live independently (including older people, sensory and physically disabled people, people with mental health issues and people with learning disabilities) receive appropriate services.<\/p>\n We also campaign for support for unpaid carers and the employment rights and working conditions of care workers\/personal assistants.<\/p>\n We campaign for a national social care system, well-funded from general taxation and free at the point of delivery.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.9.1″ _module_preset=”default” custom_margin=”30px||10px||false|false” custom_padding=”10px|10px|10px|10px|true|true” border_radii=”on|10px|10px|10px|10px” border_width_all=”2px” border_color_all=”#1b9cd4″]<\/p>\n Who We Are:<\/strong><\/p>\n We are a voluntary organisation composed of members of the public working together for improvements in social care generally, and most particularly in the London Borough of Ealing. The group is independent, non-party political, and promotes equality and non-discrimination.\u00a0 We are working for radical change locally and nationally in the way that \u2013 social care and services are offered; the standard of services are monitored and delivered; and how the cost of provision is met. We are always eager to increase our supporter base.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.9.1″ _module_preset=”default” custom_margin=”30px||10px||false|false” custom_padding=”10px|10px|10px|10px|true|true” border_radii=”on|10px|10px|10px|10px” border_width_all=”2px” border_color_all=”#1b9cd4″]<\/p>\n Who We Work With and Represent:<\/strong><\/p>\n Our research and campaigning requires us being in close touch with social care-users, their Personal Assistants, paid and unpaid carers, trade unions, local voluntary groups, and social care providers to monitor developments on the ground \u2013 many of whom are our supporters.<\/p>\n ERSCAG convenes a Direct Payment User Group, consisting largely of service users.\u00a0 This group meets regularly to share information amongst themselves and contribute to the research basis on this important aspect of social care.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.9.1″ _module_preset=”default” custom_margin=”30px||10px||false|false” custom_padding=”10px|10px|10px|10px|true|true” border_radii=”on|10px|10px|10px|10px” border_width_all=”2px” border_color_all=”#1b9cd4″]<\/p>\n What We Do:<\/strong><\/p>\n We\u00a0research<\/em>\u00a0what is happening locally in a variety of care settings \u2013 whether it be residential, domiciliary, or day care.\u00a0 We\u00a0campaign\u00a0locally\u00a0<\/em>to positively influence the provision of social care by Ealing Council.\u00a0We\u00a0campaign nationally<\/em>\u00a0to ensure that the organisation of social care \u2013 and in particular the funding of social care provision \u2013 is fit for purpose and adequately reflects the needs on the ground.<\/p>\n We monitor and scrutinise the work of Council staff; ask questions at relevant Council meetings; and engage actively with local MPs, Councillors and other Ealing-based groups interested in social care.<\/p>\n Regular newsletters keep our supporters informed of current and planned campaigns and encourage their active involvement.<\/p>\n We campaign nationally to ensure that the organisation of social care \u2013 and in particular the funding of social care provision \u2013 is fit for purpose and adequately reflects the needs on the ground.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.9.1″ _module_preset=”default” custom_margin=”30px||10px||false|false” custom_padding=”10px|10px|10px|10px|true|true” border_radii=”on|10px|10px|10px|10px” border_width_all=”2px” border_color_all=”#1b9cd4″]<\/p>\n Other Organisations We Work With:<\/strong><\/p>\n We are affiliated to Act4Inclusion<\/strong> nationally and we are active in the Scrap Social Care Charging campaign<\/strong> and in the efforts to create a National Care Support and Independent Living Service (NaCSILS)<\/strong>.
